Category: Data Conversion & Encoding ยท Node Type ID: converter-base58-to-bytes

Decodes Base58 string into raw byte array

Overview

Decodes a Base58 string back into a raw byte array (Uint8Array) using the selected alphabet (bitcoin or flickr). Leading 1 characters (in the Bitcoin alphabet) are restored as leading 0x00 bytes in the output buffer.

Error Cases

When any of the following conditions occurs at runtime, this node transitions to an ERROR state and downstream nodes connected to its outputs do not execute.

INVALID_BASE58_CHAR Base58 string contains an invalid character Raised when the input string contains characters not present in the selected Base58 alphabet.

Examples

Decoding a Base58 Public Key

Convert a Base58 address back into raw bytes.

  1. Connect the Base58 string to Base58 String, set Alphabet to Bitcoin / IPFS, and wire Bytes to Ed25519 Verify.
