Bytes to String
Decodes byte array into human-readable text string (UTF-8, ASCII, Latin-1)
Overview
Decodes a raw byte array (Uint8Array) into a human-readable text string using the selected character encoding (utf-8, ascii, or latin1 / ISO-8859-1).
This node never raises a decoding error on arbitrary bytes: invalid UTF-8 sequences are replaced with the standard replacement character, and latin1 maps every byte 0x00..0xFF directly to its Unicode code point.
When to Use
- Converting decrypted plaintext bytes back into a readable UTF-8 or ASCII string for inspection or downstream string processing.
- Inspecting raw protocol frames or headers as Latin-1 text without losing single-byte correspondence.

Examples
Converting Decrypted Plaintext Bytes into UTF-8 Text
Read the decrypted output of AES Decrypt as a string.
- Connect the
Plaintextoutput of AES Decrypt to Bytes to String with Character Encoding set toUTF-8 (Standard). - Connect the
Textoutput port to an Output Inspector.
