Privacy Policy
NodeCrypto is architected from the ground up with privacy by design. Your cryptographic keys, plaintexts, ciphertexts, and workflow graphs are processed exclusively inside your own web browser and are never transmitted to our servers.
1. Zero Server-Side Processing of Cryptographic Data
All cryptographic operations, script evaluations, and workflow executions in the NodeCrypto web application occur 100% locally within your browser's memory using WebAssembly and the Web Cryptography API:
- We do not collect, transmit, log, or store any cryptographic keys, passwords, plaintexts, ciphertexts, hashes, signatures, or workflow files (
.ncwf) on any backend server. - Saving or exporting a workflow writes the file directly to your local device storage via standard browser file download/upload APIs.
2. Browser Local Storage (localStorage)
To preserve your workspace preferences across sessions without requiring user accounts or server databases, NodeCrypto stores non-transmitted configuration data in your browser's local storage (window.localStorage):
- UI & Documentation Preferences: Color theme selection (
color-scheme), interface language preference, hexadecimal letter-case formatting setting, and property modal window geometry. - Local Workspace Data: Custom node library definitions and local Value Registry variables that you explicitly save inside your browser.
This data remains strictly on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings or the application's reset controls.
3. Cookies & Google AdSense Advertising Disclosure
To support the continued development and free hosting of NodeCrypto and its engineering documentation, we may display advertisements served by Google AdSense on our documentation pages.
- Third-Party Vendors & Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites on the Internet.
- Google Advertising Cookies (DART Cookie): Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to NodeCrypto and/or other sites on the Internet.
- How to Opt Out of Personalized Advertising: Users may opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices or www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- How Google Uses Information: For more details on how Google collects and processes data in connection with its advertising services, please review How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
4. Standard Hosting & CDN Access Logs
NodeCrypto is hosted as a static web application on Cloudflare Workers / Pages. When your browser requests static HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or WebAssembly assets, the content delivery network (CDN) automatically processes standard HTTP request metadata—such as IP address, browser user-agent string, timestamp, and requested URL path—solely for network routing, DDoS mitigation, and security monitoring.
5. External Links
Our documentation contains reference links to external standards organizations (NIST, IETF RFC Editor, ISO, KISA) and open-source repositories (GitHub, npm). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external websites.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements or platform features. Any updates will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
7. Contact Information
If you have questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy, please visit our About & Contact page or open an issue on the official NodeCrypto GitHub Repository.
