Bytes to Hex

Category: Data Conversion & Encoding ยท Node Type ID: converter-bytes-to-hex

Encodes raw byte array into hexadecimal string representation

Overview

Encodes a raw byte array (Uint8Array) into a human-readable hexadecimal string (base-16, 2 hex digits per byte). You can customize the output formatting with lowercase or uppercase hex digits, an optional 0x prefix, and an optional byte delimiter (none, space, or colon).

If a non-Bytes value is connected in an untyped flow, the engine converts it via toBytesAuto before formatting.

When to Use

Examples

Formatting a SHA-256 Digest as Uppercase Colon-Separated Fingerprint

Display a 32-byte hash in certificate fingerprint style.

  1. Connect the Digest output of Hash Digest to the Bytes input of Bytes to Hex.
  2. Set Letter Case to Uppercase (0-9, A-F) and Delimiter to Colon (aa:bb:cc).
