User Input Dialog
Prompts user for runtime input via dialog or fallback test value, of a user-selected type
Overview
Prompts the user for an interactive runtime value via a modal dialog when the workflow executes in the browser, or falls back to the configured default value when running in headless/automated test environments or when the dialog is dismissed.
Like Static Value, the node supports four primitive data types (Bytes, String, Int, and Bool) and adapts its output port type and default value field accordingly. An optional Trigger input port allows you to sequence the prompt so that it only appears after an upstream node has completed.
When to Use
- Prompting for a passphrase, PIN, challenge code, or hex token interactively during a live demonstration or manual test run.
- Sequencing an interactive confirmation or input step after an upstream key-generation or challenge node using the optional
Triggerport.
Parameter Configuration
| Parameter (ID) | Type & Default | Visibility Condition | Description & Options |
|---|---|---|---|

Any |
Optional | Always visible | Optional sequencing input of any data type. When connected, the dialog is only triggered after the upstream node connected to Trigger finishes. |

String |
Always visible | Emits the user-entered (or fallback default) value in the selected data type (Bytes, String, Int, or Bool). |
Error Cases
This node has no runtime failure cases (errorProfile: none) and always succeeds for any valid typed input.
Examples
Interactive Passphrase Prompt for PBKDF2
Ask the user for a passphrase at runtime and derive a 256-bit key.
- Set Type to
String (Text)and Prompt Message to"Enter master passphrase:". - Connect the
User Inputoutput port to String to Bytes, then into thePassword / Secretport of PBKDF2 Key Derivation.
