Terms of Service & Disclaimer
By accessing or using the NodeCrypto web application, CLI/MCP packages, or technical documentation, you agree to the following Terms of Service and cryptographic disclaimers.
1. Open-Source License (Apache-2.0)
The NodeCrypto software, execution engine, and documentation are licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (the "License"). You may obtain a copy of the License at https://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0. Unless required by applicable law or agreed to in writing, software distributed under the License is distributed on an "AS IS" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or implied.
2. Cryptographic & Security Disclaimer
NodeCrypto is an engineering, interoperability testing, and educational tool designed to model, inspect, and verify cryptographic workflows:
- No Warranty of Security Fitness: The inclusion of legacy or weak cryptographic algorithms (such as DES, TripleDES, RC4, MD5, SHA-1, ECB mode, or static zero-filled IVs/nonces) is strictly for protocol interoperability analysis, legacy system debugging, and educational comparison. Inclusion in NodeCrypto does not constitute an endorsement for production security use.
- User Responsibility for Key Material: Although all calculations run locally in your browser (see our Privacy Policy), you are solely responsible for safeguarding production keys, passphrases, and sensitive data on your device. Never share workflow files (
.ncwf) containing live production credentials. - Test Vectors & Sample Keys: All keys, IVs, nonces, and plaintexts shown in this documentation are public test vectors (e.g., NIST SP 800-38A, RFC 3602, RFC 8439) and must never be used in production systems.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use NodeCrypto only for lawful engineering, research, testing, and educational purposes. You may not use the platform or its documentation to violate applicable laws, infringe intellectual property rights, or disrupt the availability of our hosting infrastructure.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the authors, contributors, or copyright holders of NodeCrypto be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including, without limitation, loss of data, cryptographic key compromise, security breaches, or business interruption) arising in any way out of the use of—or inability to use—this software or documentation, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.
5. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the website or documentation after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
